Cristal MAD Summit 2019: How We Won Big And What Our Awards Signify

This year’s Cristal MAD awards was significantly different from previous years. The summit which took place in June in the city of Barcelo Marrakech in Morocco was taken up a notch by the organizers of the event. 

The criteria for judging was higher than the previous years, and this created even stiffer competition. In fact, there were categories that didn’t have gold prix awards because of how stringent the competition was and no campaign was seen fit as the “Best of Show”. Due to this, bronze awards this year were rated as good as the grand prix awards in previous years and silver was the highest award won. This level of competitive excellence made us even more challenged to compete and proud to win; Insight Publicis was the most awarded agency in West Africa, and the second most awarded agency in the Publicis Network in Africa.

In an interview with the Brand Communicator Magazine our Managing Director, Dr. Tendai Mhizha said, “For us, it’s always a thing of joy to see real-life solutions created for clients actually go on to win awards”. To buttress this statement by our MD, these awards were gotten from the dedication of the agency towards creating marketing solutions for our businesses, we harnessing our people’s skills, and our constant pursuit of excellence in all we do.


During the African Cristal Festivals in 2018, the agency won two gold medals for Heineken’s ‘Winning Local’ campaign in the Film and Integrated categories. Also, in 2017, the campaign  won the Prestigious Campaign of the Year award at the Advertisers Association of Nigeria, ADVAN awards for the brand. Then the brand’s Manager, Mr Obabiyi Fagade won the Brand Manager of the Year award. Significantly, this shows the agency’s dedication to digging deep to get insights on how to create the best solutions for businesses whenever we’re faced with the tasks – the better it is for us and our businesses if these solutions win awards as a ripple effect.

It is with pleasure we say that we owe previous awards and these recent ones to our new businesses and the old businesses that have always trusted us over the years. As a marketing agency that creates insightful, impactful and memorable business solutions, we’ll continue to be true to our consistency of delivering the very best. So, we don’t stop here. In fact, our hunger for more wins saw us aiming for the ACT Cannes Lion 2019 awards as the only West African agency in the mix.
